Avoid the Goji Look-alike!
Over the past 2 – 3 years, the western world has become increasingly aware of the amazing health benefits of the Goji berry. Because of this demand, more and more berry products are becoming available. There has been a large number of worldwide business groups who have begun marketing either the whole berries or juice from fruit grown in either mainland China, Mongolia or other areas outside of Tibet. The fruit for these products is cultivated in huge farms using “allowable” pesticides, and are not benefited by the pristine conditions of the Tibetan highlands.
The Tibetan Government, through the Tibetan Medical College in Lhasa controls the entire harvest of Tibetan Goji berries. Tibet Authentic, has the exclusive contract with the Tibetan Medical College to sell these berries which are certified grown, sun dried and harvested in Tibet. These are in fact the original, and authentic Goji berries. The Tibet Authentic certified logo is a registered trademark in the USA and Australia and pending in the UK and across the EU. This is the assurance that the product has originated from Tibet and is in fact certified by the Tibetan Government and the Tibetan Medical College. This is a claim that cannot be made of other products.
At each harvest, consultation between the Government and the Medical College ascertain how many berries are required to meet the local Tibetan’s needs. These are then withheld from sale so that the local people still have ample supply of their precious resource. Proceeds from the sale of the berries are helping fund a variety of projects which aim to better the lives of the people of Tibet. Not only this, but fair trading practices are carried out ensuring that the farmers, berry pickers and packers are working under generous and fair working conditions.
